    Hello,

I have a question about the Portal User's password. Are they stored in plain text ? Is it possible to store them in a more secure way ?

    Thank you

    Hello Julien,

The "Last Known Password" field stores the password that is used when first creating the Portal User. If the user changes their password in Sitefinity after the user is created, the password change will not be reflected back to Dynamics CRM. In the upcoming TPC 3.3 release, this field will be cleared out after being sent to Sitefinity so not even temporary passwords will be stored in Dynamics CRM.

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

    Regards,
    Clinton

    Thanks for the answer.

So, my question is, Is it possible to create a form to register new contact in the CRM and portal user (http://www.crmportalconnector.com/developer-network/documentation/howto/how-to/how-to-manually-create-a-user-in-the-portal-connector) without storing the password in plain text as last known password ?

    Best regards,
    Julien

    Hi Julien,

Currently that is not possible without custom workflow/plugin logic to clear the field after our create plugin has executed. TPC 3.3 will cover this scenario however and clear the field once it has successfully been sent to Sitefinity.

    Hi Clinton,

So the solution is to run a workflow that clear that field when a portal user is created ?

When will TPC 3.3 be available ?

    Regards,
    Julien

    Hello Julien,

TPC 3.3 will be available at the end of March.

The workflow solution could potentially work, but some testing would need to be done to ensure that our plugins don't kick off again and clear the password on the Sitefinity side of things.

    Cheers,
    Clinton
